Lambda Theta Upsilon was founded in 1919 to roll bandages for the War effort. Following the war, the society’s charitable work became more community oriented. St. Nicholas students supported a bed for a crippled child at the Children’s Orthopedic Hospital, sent Thanksgiving baskets to needy families, and held an annual Christmas party for children from the Social Welfare League. -Phylis Adams Herford ’50
