APPLICATION
CHECKLIST
The two-page Applicant Information form
and application fee are what activates
your student's folder and begins the actual application process. We encourage
applicants to mail this form as soon as possible, preferably by December
11, 2008. Be sure to include the application fee ($48 for the U.S.
and Canada, $98 for international applicants). If the application fee presents
a hardship, please call the Associate Director of Financial Aid at 206-440-2773
to request a fee waiver. All Applicant Information forms are due
no later than January 15, 2009 for an on-time decision.
Upper
School applicants are
encouraged to submit the Applicant Information form, fee, and
Extracurricular Activities form as soon as possible. Having this information
early is helpful in scheduling an applicant's day visit, host, and classes.
Priority scheduling is given to those whose Applicant Informaton form,
fee, and Extracurricular Activities form are received by December 11, 2008.
The final dedadline for these forms is January 15, 2009.
School interview. Candidates for the Middle School
will be automatically scheduled for a small group informal interview once we
receive their Application Information form and fee.
Upper
School applicants should contact
the Admissions and Financial Aid Office to schedule a visit or interview after
the initial forms hae been sent. We encourage applicants to submit the
forms as soon as possible as space on our visit schedule is limited. Interviews
begin in October 2008 and must be completed by mid-February 2009 for on-time
applicants.
Register for the ISEE (5-10th grade applicants).
It is best to register for the earliest test date possible so you do not have
to worry about meeting the completed application deadline of January
29, 2009. The last test date that will meet our application deadline
is January 24, 2009 (the registration deadline for this test
is January 3, 2009).
11th-12th
Grades: The PSAT and SAT I are acceptable tests for 11th and
12th grade applicants. If neither is available, we will need an ISEE test
(see above).
Students should submit their Applicant Essays
and Extracurricular Activities forms
as soon as possible and no later than January 15, 2009.
Parent/guardians should submit the Parent/Guardian
Comment form as soon as possible and no later than January 15,
2009.
After November 12, 2008, give the School Records form
to your current principal or guidance counselor. The school should fill out
the form and return it to the Admissions and Financial Aid Office with first-term
grades from the current school year as well as grades from the previous school
year, and all available standardized testing. You may make copies of this form
if records from a second school are necessary. The School Records Form must
be received by the Admissions and Financial Aid Office no later than January
29, 2009.
After
November 12, 2008, give the Teacher Evaluation forms
to two teachers who know the applicant well. One of the two teachers must be
a current teacher. Due no later than January 29, 2009.
Please give the
Personal Reference form
to someone outside of the applicants school and family who can comment
on the applicants character and sense of self. Due no later than January
15, 2009.
