Come visit Lakeside!

“There are so many aspects of the school that can only be experienced by visiting our campus. We hope to see you soon.” – Tour guide Emma E. ’16

Campus Tours

Group tours are available September through January and can be scheduled online through your Ravenna account. Tours are an optional component of the admissions process, designed for both the applicant and parents/guardians to attend.

Tours offer the opportunity to learn about academic and cocurricular programs, as well as see our classrooms, arts, and athletics facilities. Middle School tours are led by members of the admissions staff; Upper School tours are led by Lakeside students and involve walking outside.

Open House

Lakeside will host our Upper School Open House on Sunday, Nov. 5 from 10 a.m - 2 p.m. This is a casual, relaxed event with no set agenda. You are welcome to arrive any time after 10 a.m.; the open house ends at 2 p.m. Plan to spend approximately 30-60 minutes on campus. No RSVP is required and all family members are welcome.

Our goal is to provide prospective families with an informal opportunity to get to know the Upper School. You can:

  • Attend an administrative welcome and student panel, offered at 10:45 a.m., 11:45 a.m., or 12:45 p.m.
  • Explore open classrooms and buildings.
  • Connect with faculty and program representatives at information fairs.
  • Talk with coaches.
  • Walk through the visual arts studios.
  • Find out more about admissions and financial aid.

Details and locations of the above events are provided during the open house. Keep in mind, you will be walking outside, so we recommend comfortable shoes, weather-appropriate jackets, and possibly an umbrella. We are hoping for a sunny day!

In place of a traditional open house at the Middle School, we are excited to offer admissions visit days and group tours for our families, allowing for a more personalized experience. Admissions visits are required and provide substantial information on the application process and our school. While tours are optional, we do encourage families to attend if they are interested and it works with the family schedule. Additionally, all our school-wide events (such as athletics events, musical performances, etc.) are open to prospective families; a calendar of these events can be found here.

Middle School admissions visits and Upper School interviews

A Middle School admissions visit is required for all applicants. They allow applicants and their parents/guardians to learn more about the Middle School. During the visit, applicants, separate from their parent/guardians, will speak with current students, visit classrooms, meet faculty and staff, and complete group activities.

Parents/guardians will hear from the admissions office, a current parent/guardian, Middle School leadership, and a faculty member. Parents/guardians will have the opportunity to ask questions regarding school culture, curriculum, extracurriculars, food service, and anything else you can think of! If applicable, it is not required for both parents/guardians to attend.

The admissions visit lasts approximately one hour and is scheduled through Ravenna. We encourage applicants to register early.

Upper School interviews are a casual, one-on-one conversation with a faculty or staff member. Our goal is to get to know the applicant beyond what is included in the application. We want interviews to be relaxed and (dare we say) even fun! There are no set questions nor anything students need to bring or prepare.

Interviews typically last 20-30 minutes. Parents/guardians are invited to join in the last few minutes for questions if they have any. There is no parent/guardian interview and, if applicable, it is not necessary for both parents/guardians to attend.

For applicants living outside the Seattle area, we are happy to arrange a Skype or phone interview. Please contact Lilli Forgette at 206-368-3636.

For international applicants, our admissions team will contact you regarding an interview if one is needed.
