ADVERSE WEATHER AND SNOW INFORMATION (updated January 2008)
Find weather related bus and route change information.
Remember, if you use route 995 and 986 and there is snow or ice, please use the snow route map. The only difference between a snow route and the regular route is that some stops must be eliminated when the routes travel up and down hills. Or, if your route does not have a snow route and if your stop is at the top of the hill, the bus will pick you up at the bottom of the hill.
Also please keep this advice from the Metro weather information page in mind, "no matter what the situation is, it is not possible to predict exactly how service will be affected or which Metro routes or trips may be revised or canceled. Even pre-planned ice and snow reroutes do not always work. Adverse conditions can have different impacts on different parts of Metro's service area." For more information on Metro's inclement weather guidelines, please click here to be rerouted to their snow information page.
ACTIVITY BUS
Lakeside now has two activity bus routes. These routes are designed to transport students to safe, central locations where families can pick them up without having to come all the way to Lakeside. The activity buses will run every day the morning/afternoon buses run.

METRO CONTACT INFORMATION
If your child’s bus is more than 10 minutes late, please contact Metro Rider Information at 206-553-3000 (press 0) to inquire when it might arrive so you can decide whether to transport your child, or wait a bit longer. In the afternoon or evening, you may call this number to find out if the bus was late leaving Lakeside (or is just caught in traffic along the way).
If no one is available at that number, please call the Emergency Pager - 206-982-8909 and enter in your telephone number for a return call.We also offer a Lakeside number to call with any Metro Custom Bus concerns, 206-440-2801. This number is answered by a Lakeside staff person from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Please remember to arrive at least five minutes before the bus is scheduled to depart, so your child doesn’t risk missing the bus. All riders must be at the bus stop, and in the bus zone, NOT sitting in personal cars where the driver cannot see them.
Please remember that ONLY 10-month and day passes/tickets will be accepted by the bus drivers, not cash or tickets from other sources.
