12th-grade news
Hello Lakeside 12th-grade families!
On behalf of the Lakeside School Parents and Guardians Association (PGA), we'd like to welcome you to the 2019-2020 school year. We are your 12th-grade class reps and we look forward to an incredible year ahead!
As class reps, our job is to build community, facilitate communication, and organize volunteers among 12th-grade families. Building community is essential to the Lakeside experience, and 12th grade is your chance to deepen, solidify, and celebrate those community bonds. We hope you'll take advantage of the variety of PGA events and activities offered this year, even (especially!) if this is the first year you do.
For starters, please come to the summer Rummage work party on Wednesday, June 26. Rummage is a Lakeside tradition and a wonderful way to get together in a casual setting. See below for more information.
You will receive Pawprint newsletters in August and September with details about upcoming fall events and opportunities to volunteer for PGA events and activities, including APPLE (faculty and staff appreciation program), tailgates, dances, class potlucks, and of course, the ROAR auction. At the end of this email you will also find information about 12th-grade specific volunteer opportunities during the school year. Volunteering is truly a meaningful way to connect with our diverse and welcoming community, and we hope you'll seize the chance.
Have a fantastic summer! 12th-grade class reps, 2019-2020 From left: Julie Holter, Ying Lu, Lin Cheng, and Abby Hartman Rummage Depot Wednesday, June 26, 9 a.m.-noon Come to our summer Rummage work party to connect with other parents, guardians, and students and help Lakeside prepare for our traditional fundraiser, the Rummage Sale! Twelfth grade is responsible for sorting, pricing, and boxing home items that are donated throughout the year. This is a great way to learn how others are spending their summers, have fun, and support Lakeside. There's no need to RSVP, just come to the Rummage Depot (lower level of the PGA office) any time between 9 a.m. and noon on Wednesday, June 26. Students are welcome.
Volunteer opportunities The PGA supports our students, faculty and staff, and parents and guardians in myriad ways and YOU are the reason we can make this happen! This year, our key involvement opportunities are: GradGrams bookmaking; GradGrams database editing; potluck coordinators; roundtable facilitators; senior farewell dinner; senior parent and guardian dinner; and senior photo wall coordinators. If you are interested in any of these volunteer roles, you can learn more and sign up online by clicking here.
There will also be chances to volunteer at the All-School Picnic on Tuesday, Sept. 3; ROAR, our community party and fantastic fundraising auction on Saturday, Nov. 23; and during the Rummage Sale on March 13-15, 2020.
