Endowment Campaign Goal: $45,000,000
The financial aid endowment at Lakeside allows the school to enroll capable students from middle- and working-class families who otherwise could not attend the school. In 2007-2008, more than one in four students at Lakeside (190 students) received full or partial financial aid, representing an essential component of socioeconomic diversity that enriches community life.
Financial aid allows the Admissions Committee to admit students who bring additional intellectual, artistic, and athletic talents to the school.
As Lakeside gains a reputation of being available to more students who require aid, we expect the pool of qualified applicants to increase. Our goal is to keep money from being a reason for denying a Lakeside education to a promising student. Over the next 10 years, we think this will allow us to become nearly need blind.
