We asked your classmates if they wanted to share any accomplishments, honors or special events so we’re sharing them below!

Sam Arriola – “I just started at the UW Medical Cener on Roosevelt as a Medical Assistant! Also as you know I am a father and I started my junior year with only 5 credits. I will be graduating  with extra credits ON TIME!

Eyoal Ayele – will be attending the University of Washington this fall. He was given the “Winners for Life” and the “Breakfast Group” Awards.

Cyndrea Brown – will be graduating from Shoreline Community College this June with her AA degree and then attending Washington State University in Pullman in the fall.

LaToya Carter – will be graduating not only from high school but the academy of Travel and Tourism at Ingraham high school as well.

Chris Chapman – will be heading up north to the University of British Columbia. UBS  admitted him into the Sauder School of Business and WSU awarded him a 2 year, $2,000 scholarship.

Pedro Contreras – is on his way to Boise Idaho to attend Boise State University. He received the Ku’Onesha Award during his high school career.

Anesha Coward – is hoping to attend Gramblin but got accepted to Santa Barbara College. Most importantly, she’s leaving town!

Riley Davis – received a grant for $18,500 for the 2007-2008 school year. At Ballard he received the Goldeh Beaver Scholarship, $3,000 a year for four years. He received $1,500 from the LINKS, Inc, $500 from the African American Dollars for Scholars and is The Breakfast Group All Achievers Award Nominee (he’s waiting to see if they award him any money!)

Shantel Fashaw – is going to be a DAWG ad the University of Washington. She is also on a full academic scholarship!

Carlene Forbes – is the recipient of the LINKS scholarship and the District Four Masonic Scholarship and is waiting on results of her other applications! She will be joining other LEEPers at the University of Washington campus.

Gyasi Gilbert-Bass - says “Thank you guys for everything and helping me through high school!”

Griffin Joki-Fujimoto – is going to take the year to work before heading off to school.

Henok Kidane – will be playing Division II soccer at Saint Martin’s University in Lacey Washington.

Oliver Klobas – will be playing football while attending Central WU in Ellensburg.

Christal Lam – has been going to community college and will get her AA degree in June before leaving for Biola University in La Miranda California to study philosophy.

Whitney McCoy – received a scholarship to attend the summer program for engineer majors at Hampton this summer.

Ashley Mitchel  - has a lot to say. “I finished school a semester early at Garfield High, I’m just waiting to return in May for prom and June for graduation. My motivation for finishing early was due to the birth of my baby girl on April 4th, 2007. But no worries because I still have intentions of attending college and obtaining my bachelors/masters degree in medicine. And to top that off, I applied to the University of Washington in January and got excepted in late March! UW will be paying my tuition, room and board, and books for the Summer Transition Program that my daughter and I will attend in July before starting school in the fall! Thanks to this summer program, I will earn 4 college credits, gain the experience of living on campus, and have the opportunity to socialize with other college students; which will prepare me for college life at UW!

Andrew Mullins-Williams – LEEP class of ’02 was an exchange student in Panama his sophomore year and is graduating this year from Seattle Academy.

Dursa Nejash – is still waiting for word which two year or four year university he will be attending. He did get the Anna Armstrong White Volunteer of the year, and Student of the Month while at Garfield High school.

Gurbinder Parhar- attending the UW Gurbinder won the Patriot’s Award and received the Diversity Club Reconition Award.

Allegra Powell – will be attending BCC.

Justin Ranson- will be attending Howard University after having received the 101 Club Scholar-Athlete Award.

Precious Reese – is on her way to Alabama State! She is anticipating financial help and has already received the Esquire Club scholarship.

Allison Reiman – is the Urban League Scholarship winner of $40,000, Washingt State Honors Award, Ben Snowden Award and All-King Co. basketball selection

Christian Schoening-Kidd – has moved to Salem Oregon and will be graduating from South Salem HS this June. He will then head out for the Coast Guard!

Veronica Velasquez – is LINKS scholarship recipient and will join many other LEEPers at the UW.
