LEEP School Year

LEEP students lending a helping hand at Helping House

During the school year, LEEP staff will visit each Seattle Public High School to check on LEEP students and to acquaint them with the other LEEPers who attend the school in various grades. We also gather LEEP students in some type of enrichment activity or community service activity on the weekends. We will also work with LEEP high school juniors and seniors to prepare them for the college admissions process. Each spring break, LEEP staff take several high school juniors on a tour of large, medium, and small-sized colleges in both rural and urban settings around the Northwest. These school-year LEEP sessions help maintain the bond developed during the summer, give us an opportunity to continue to emphasize some LEEP positives, and enable us to assist the students if we can help with their current school program. LEEP staff members are expected to volunteer in some of these school-year LEEP sessions when they have the availability and time to participate.
