Friends of Lakeside Athletics
A committee of the Parents Association
Our Mission:
The mission of the Friends of Lakeside
Athletics is to bring balanced support to and foster effective communication
about all of Lakeside’s athletic teams, coaches, and players through activities
complementary to and under leadership provided by the schools Athletic
Department.
Who we are:
We are interested parents and friends volunteering
to maximize the athletic experience of every Lakeside athlete. There is
at least one parent representative for every sport – boys and girls – included
on the FOLA committee. In addition, the Middle School has three representatives.
Responsibilities range from providing rosters, schedules and directions
to games to coordinating team communications and potlucks.
FOLA’s role:
FOLA organizes and produced activities to enhance
communication between teams, parents, and administration through the use
of parent/team representatives; perpetuates Lakeside traditions; develops
and promotes spirit and pride within the Lakeside community; raises funds
for programs benefiting Lakeside athletics as a whole; and facilitates
individual sports needs.
Annual FOLA projects include:
*The all-school "Burgers on the Quad" in the fall
*Championship banners
*Seasonal pocket schedules
*"Lion Talk" sports line
*The all-school sports celebration in the spring
*Lakeside Sports Program
