Andrew Krus is an active conductor, arranger, and string pedagogue. Mr. Krus is the Music Program Director of Lakeside School and Assistant Conductor of the Rainier Symphony. He has served on the conducting staff of the Everett Youth Orchestras, Solano Youth Orchestra, and is former Director of Orchestras at Abraham Lincoln School for the Performing Arts.
Andrew holds a MM in Instrumental Conducting from Ithaca College. His primary conducting teachers include Timothy Reynish, Jeff Grogan (New Jersey Symphony Orchestra), Anthony Quartuccio (Opera San Jose), Dr. Stephen Peterson, and Chris Kim. Andrew has served as an adjucator and clinician in New Jersey, New York, Michigan, California, and Washington.
Mr. Krus studied the double bass with Richard Davis, Barry Lieberman, Anna Doak, and Ron Simon. Mr Krus earned his BA in Music from Western Washington University where he worked closely with Chuck Israels. His classical performance credits include work with the Lansing Symphony Orchestra, Livonia Philharmonic, and Principal Bass of the Detroit Civic Orchestra.
Mr. Krus is curently working on a series of compositions and adaptations for orchestra. He is an advocate for improving the quality and quantity of repertoire for youth orchestras and school string programs. |
