Brad Hawkins

Brad Hawkins, composer, cellist, and bassist, can be heard in all
kinds of venues playing all kinds of music from Experimental Jazz with
the likes of Wayne Horvitz, Jesse Canterbury, and Wally Shoup, to
Tangos with Valse Cafe Orchestra, Bluegrass with Paul Anastasio;
Orchestral work with any number of Northwest orchestras, Rock and Roll
having appeared with Smokey Robinson and K.D. Lang, and Chamber Music with the Seattle University Piano Trio and The Seattle New Music
Ensemble, which he founded and leads.

Brad has had his own works performed in the U.S., Canada, Japan, and
across Europe, and has lectured at the Freiburg Hochshule fur Musik in
experimental string techniques. He has held teaching posts at Portland
State University and at Indiana University, where he pursued graduate work in composition and cello. Brad has performed with most of the
orchestras in the Puget Sound area and teaches chamber music and
solfege at the Academy of Music Northwest. He currently serves as
the adjuncct professor of cello and bass at Seattle University and
maintains an active performing schedule when he is not attempting
to ride ridiculous distances on his bicycle.
