Erica Johansen holds an MM in violin performance from the University of Washington and a BM in violin performance from the University of Puget Sound.  She has studied with Edward Seferian, Kyung Sun Chee, and Rochelle Walton, former assistant to Ivan Galamian. Erica also spent six months in Vienna studying with Rene Staar, a member in the Vienna Philharmonic. She is currently concertmaster of the Lake Union Civic Orchestra and a member of the Tacoma Symphony and Bellevue Philharmonic.  Erica earned her Washington teaching certificate from the University of Washington and has taught in the Shoreline and Seattle School Districts. She is also a chamber music coach for the Seattle Conservatory of Music- Eastside Division. In addition to her classical performances she has recorded and performed with numerous bands, including Sky Cries Mary and alt-country singer Sera Cahoone. Erica also performs with the Bella Trio.
