Alicia Suarez

Alicia Suarez received her Master of Music and Bachelor of Music (summa cum laude) in Flute Performance form the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. She has studied with Rochelle Draizar (Cincinnati Symphony), Scott Goff (Principal Flute, Seattle Symphony) and Zart Eby (Piccolo, Seattle Symphony) and has been a participant in the Master Classes of James Galway, Julius Baker, Jeanne Baxtresser, Ransom Wilson and Walfrid Kujala.  She maintains a studio of private flute  students in Ravenna and coaches the flute students at Eckstein Middle School, Roosevelt High School and Mercer Island High School.
 
An active performer, Alicia has performed with the Seattle Symphony, Seattle Opera, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Auburn Symphony, Paramount Theatre  and the Fifth Avenue Theatre Orchestra.  She was principal flute with the Bellevue Philharmonic for 12 years during which she was featured as a soloist performing the Ibert Concerto.   Alicia is an experienced orchestral studio recording artist on flute, piccolo, alto flute and bass flute.  In 1992 Alicia commissioned and premiered Spindrift for Piccolo and Piano by composer Ken Benshoof. She is the director of Arioso Ensembles, providing classical live music for private events since 1982 (www.AriosoEnsembles.com).
