Grand Canyon Backpacking: February 17-24, 2008

Parent/Student Information Meeting: Wednesday, Feburary 6, 7-9 PM, Kent-Evans Audiorium.

Mandatory Student Prep Meeting: Sunday, February 10, 10 AM-4 PM, St Nick Outdoor Room.

   This will be an 8-day trip to visit and backpack in one of the natural wonders of the world. The group will fly to Phoenix, AZ, drive rental vehicles to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and hike a trail down 5,000 ft+ to the Colorado River. They will spend 3 days hiking and exploring near the river, then spend 2 days hiking back up out of this magnificent gash in the earth. Limit of 9 students. Cost:  approx.$570. Leaders: Jara Popelkova and Hugh Macdonald.
