Helping Parents Get the Information They Need
The Lakeside Parents Association sponsors and coordinates well over one hundred events during the course of a school year.  The school sponsors several events for parents in each grade every year and, of course, our students have many extra school-related activities they'd like to include in their busy schedules (and get a ride from Mom or Dad perhaps?).

For the 2005 - 2006 school year, the Parents Association initiated PAWPRINT, an email-based newsletter that goes out every other week.  Each PAWPRINT cycle is comprised of eight different editions - one for each grade at Lakeside.  When PAWPRINT is sent, relevant updates are also made to the Parents Association web pages.   In collaboration with the four Class Representatives from each grade and the fifty-seven other PA Committee Chairs, the PAWPRINT Editor and PA Webmaster, gather, edit and publish the latest news important to parents.   This process is heavily dependent on having access to the latest versions of the PA Calendars managed by the PA Secretary.

Feedback from parents regarding the PAWPRINT newsletter has been so overwhelmingly positive, the newsletter will continue this school year.  The schedule for the 2006 - 2007 school year can be found by clicking the PAWPRINT Schedule link to the right.   Breaks in the schedule are caused by days/weeks when school isn't in session.

Like everyone else on the Parents Association Board, our PAWPRINT editor and PA Webmaster are volunteers.  While every attempt is made to honor our schedule, there have been rare times in the past when technical difficulties and sheer volume of information submitted have made it a challenge to complete all the web updates on time or send off the PAWPRINT emails by the end of the school day.  If the schedule indicates a new edition of PAWPRINT is due to come out, it will be coming - your volunteers are undoubtedly hard at work at their computers making it happen.
