Sharing Concerns; Trading Ideas
Parent Peer Groups are informal discussions focused on family and parenting issues facilitated by
trained parent volunteers. The groups provide a forum for parents to share concerns and ideas on topics such as
balancing home and school life, driving, dating, curfews, electronic messaging and others.
Parent Peer Groups are not designed to deal with academic or curricular issues, nor are
they the forum for sharing specific concerns about faculty and staff at Lakeside. Such concerns should be directed
to Lakeside Administrators rather than the Parent Peer Group.

Mission
The Parent Peer Group Program is aimed at building a sense of community within each class by providing opportunities to share information and support in dealing with
common parenting challenges. The Peer Group Coordinator supports and trains parent facilitators of grade-level peer groups, and acts as a liaison among grade-level
facilitators, the Parents Association Board and Lakeside Administrators.
