Saving Money and Recycling
Lakeside textbooks are a big expense every fall for all students. When a textbook is being reused the following year, it may be eligible to be bought back by the Bookstores on the Middle School and Upper School Campuses. These used books are then available for purchase the following year.

Students can turn in their used books during the last week of Middle School and during finals at the Upper School each spring. When the book is purchased the following fall, the selling student's account is credited for up to 60% the original purchase price (depending on the book's condition). If a student is no longer at Lakeside in the fall, the book sale funds are mailed to the parents or guardians.

Last year student accounts were credited with $30,000 in used book sales. Coupled with that excellent savings is the fact that we're using fewer books to begin with as a school which helps the environment.

Mission
Coordinate book buy-back at the end of the school year and the book sale at the beginning of the school year. Maintain records for all book sales and provide reimbursement to parents' accounts.
