Galapagos Adventure 2008
Lakeside’s Ecuador LIP Trip – July, 2008

On July 1, 2008, twelve
Lakeside students and two teachers boarded a flight for Quito.
What awaited them was 17 days of adventure, including:
- Several days in a remote indigenous village
deep in the Amazon
Basin
- A thrilling whitewater canoe descent on the Napo River in the heart of the
Ecuadorian Amazon
- Wildlife and geology of the Andes,
including a mountain-top expedition over 14,000 feet
- Snorkeling with reef sharks, penguins, and sea
lions
- Close encounters with giant tortoises,
boobies, tarantulas, and Darwin’s
finches
- Bizarre fruit, Salsa dancing, new friends, and
Cuarenta!
