|Checkmate: Lakeside Holds off King's in Tailgate|
Sam S. ’15 threw for 140 yards and manufactured three TD’s, Cole S. ’15 rushed for 70 yards and a score, and Mayan C. ’16 carved out 41 receiving yards and a touchdown to help Lakeside push past King’s by a 30-20 result on Friday (Sept. 12) at Parsons Field.
|Cross Country Competes at Bellarmine Invitational|
The Lakeside cross country team kicked off its 2014 regular-season slate in Tacoma on Saturday and registered several top-flight times in the process. The Lions competed in the Bellarmine Invitational, where defending WIAA 3A state champion Andrea M. ’15 secured top billing in the girls varsity race.
|Brian Woodward Named Baseball Program Head|
Lakeside School announced on Monday (September 8) that it has hired Brian Woodward as baseball program head – Woodward will assume the role as varsity head coach and will oversee all baseball operations at the Middle School and Upper School.

Though I am beginning my seventh year at Lakeside, I feel a little like a rookie again. I have been a coach and athlete most of my life and know well the pregame experience – a mixture of butterflies and pride. I have those feelings now. I just want to get the game started!
|2014 Fall Practice & Event Schedules Released|
On Monday, July 21, the Lakeside athletic department released preseason practice schedules for Middle School and Upper School teams participating in the 2014 fall season, as well as tentative competition schedules for all Upper School fall programs.

Lakeside School announced on Monday (June 9) that it has hired Adrienne “Bird” Folsom as assistant director of athletics – Bird will oversee all programs at the Middle School and assist with facility and event management duties at the Upper School.

The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) announced its final tally for the 2013-14 Washington Army National Guard Scholastic Cup on Thursday (June 5) - Lakeside placed second in 3A classification with 1,555 points behind Mercer Island (1,895 pts).
|Champions: Boys Soccer Wins First WIAA State Crown|
You know what they say – the fourth time’s a charm. The Lakeside boys varsity soccer team captured its first WIAA 3A state championship in four attempts (’89, ‘00’, ’06, ’14), outlasting Mercer Island by a 1-0 scoreline at Sparks Stadium (Puyallup) on Saturday (May 31) afternoon.
