Global citizenship in action

This past Saturday night a group of Lakeside Upper School students held a fundraiser for Haiti to a near sell-out crowd in St Nicholas auditorium. The students came up with the idea just one week before and in a very short time invited people to perform, found free printing from AlphaGraphics and received a large coffee donation from Tully's. They saw a need and viewed it as their responsibility to meet it. Similar efforts are underway in Middle School. I am so proud of these students! They put their beliefs into action, to the betterment of others; and, discovered at the same time how much their individual efforts make a difference. This is global citizenship in action!
