POETRY ASSIGNMENT DRAMA I - FALL 2007
For your first DRAMA assignment you will need to choose a poem 10-14 lines length and have it confidently memorized by Wednesday, September 26th . (This is our first class after the two weeks of the choreography workshop.)
In order to help you make a choice that will work well for you in this assignment, please bring in a copy of TWO DIFFERENT POEMS by Monday, September 17th , so that we can help you decide on one of them. You have until Friday, September 21st to make a final choice.
Look over the list of resources below. Although delightful to read and fun to hear, please avoid Seuss and Silverstein. In addition, do not choose something that you have written or someone that you know has written or a poem that you have already worked on for another class assignment. The focus of this assignment is to help you discover new ways in which to make personal connections to words and images, with less emphasis on rhythm and rhyme for the purposes of this project.
