Here’s an idea:

 

Join the Lakeside English Department’s

Haiku Contest

FORMAT

Please use the 5—7—5 structure.  For example:

 

Midnight by the lake.                            (5 syllables)

The moon floats on the water.               (7 syllables)

Noisy croaking frogs.                            (5 syllables)

 

You may submit as many haikus as you’d like.

For each one, please bring poems and

$1 (students) or $2 (grownups)

to Erik Christensen’s office, Moore 27, or Janet Dahl’s office, Bliss 26.

Please use cash or checks payable to Lakeside School.

 

CATEGORIES

                      (When you submit, please specify the category.)

 

          DEADLINE: Submit entries by WED. MAY 21.

                    Winners announced and read in assembly MAY 28,

                                        and published in various Lakeside venues.
