Lakeside English Department

The Lakeside English curriculum aims to help students become more thoughtful about themselves and their relationship to their place in their community and the global society.  We are committed to developing students who are thoughtful and perceptive readers, skillful and versatile writers, engaged and effective speakers, and active and sensitive listeners.  With a broad range of ancient and modern works, and canonical and non-canonical authors, students come to understand the historical growth of literary genres and multi-cultural strands of world literature.  Perhaps our highest aim is to inspire a love of language and literature.
