Global Village

Who are we? Where are we headed? This course will explore cultural identities by examining different religions, languages, and customs. After gaining and understanding of the “global village,” we will discuss the major issues confronting different cultures in their relationship to each other and their impact on nature. Areas of study include the first global TV generation, globalization, population, environmental degradation, human rights, and other significant world issues. We will study a variety of approaches to solving these problems, including programs initiated by the United Nations.
