The Construction and Multiplication of Octonions
This paper was created as a result of an independent study course taken at the University of Washington with Dr. Patrick Perkins during which we read pieces of both "On Quaternions and Octonions" by John H. Conway and Derek J. Smith as well as "The Octonions" by John C. Baez.
This paper was created as a final project in Applied Math 383 instructed by Dr. Will Heuett, a course that teaches modelling using differential equations, and is based upon a patented invention of my father, Mithra Sankrithi.
Central and South Asian Shawms
This paper was created as a final project in Music 445 instructed by Dr. Lorraine Sakata, and discusses the history, function, context, spread, origins, and evolution of Central and South Asian Shawms (double-reeded aerophones, corresponding to the western oboe), exploring the Surnaay of Central Asia, the Shanaaii of Northern India, as well as the Naagasvaram of Southern India.
This paper was created as a final project in Music History 426 instructed by Dr. Larry Starr, and is a musical exploration of the music of Eminem, specifically focusing on his hit songs "Lose Yourself", "Mockingbird", and "When I'm Gone".
