• Ivory-Billed Woodpecker - Scientists use frequency analyzer to compare a bird call of a known Ivory-Billed Woodpecker recorded in 1935 with a recent recording.  Listen to NPR's story

• The Orca Vocalization and Localization (OVAL) Project - OVAL uses an array of hydrophones in the Haro Strait of Puget Sound to determine the location of vocalizating orca whales.  You can listen to a variety of whale calls at their website.  (Note:  Do not click on the sections.  Just place the cursor over the section and then move the cursor to the left).
