Expectations for Use
The goal of the library is to implement, enrich, and support the educational program of the school. We encourage students to take responsibility for learning, to become effective users of information, and to develop an appreciation for libraries that will facilitate lifelong learning. Therefore, the library is a place of academic purpose; it is not a place for socializing, recreation, or lounging.
To achieve these goals, we expect that students:
- Keep the number of people at a table to four or less.
- Use quiet voices.
- Wear headphones to listen to any audio material.
- Turn cell phones to "silent" or "off" while in the library.
- Keep floors and aisle ways clear of bodies, bags, or personal gear.
- Eat and drink before you come into the library.
- Keep the library space orderly and clean.
The expectations for library use apply to all areas of the library building (closed rooms, media room, etc.) during all library hours of operation (regardless of class period, schedule week, etc.). Failure to observe the rules of conduct may result in disciplinary action, including loss of access to the library.
