Middle School, grades 5-8

Admissions Visit (required)

The admissions visit allows applicants and their parents/guardians to learn more about the Middle School. The visit occurs after school and lasts approximately one hour. Registration is required in Ravenna (once a family has submitted the preliminary application) and we encourage applicants to complete this step as early as possible.

During the visit, applicants will speak with current students, visit classrooms, meet faculty and staff, and complete group activities.

Parents/guardians will hear from the admissions office, a current parent/guardian, Middle School leadership, and a faculty member. They will have the opportunity to ask questions regarding school culture, curriculum, extracurricular programs, food service, and anything else you can think of! If applicable, it is not required for both parents/guardians to attend.

For domestic applicants living outside the Seattle area, please contact Doug Moon at 206-440-2762.

The visit process is different for international applicants; our admissions team will contact you if an interview is needed. Visit the International Application page for details.

Campus Tour (optional)

Students and families applying for the 2020-21 school year are welcome to come on a campus tour. Registration is required in Ravenna and will open September 4, 2019. Tour dates are released on a rolling basis throughout the fall. Please register for and attend one campus tour per admissions season.

Middle School tours are offered most Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays between mid-September and early January. Please check Ravenna for availability on specific dates and times.

Direct from the Directors (optional)

Parents and guardians (no applicants please) are invited to hear from our co-directors of admissions, Eliza Parsons and Tearon Joseph. This 30-minute session will focus on Lakeside’s approach to admissions, with an emphasis on information needed for a completed application, and an overview of how admissions committees make decisions.

Intended for parents and guardians only and registration is required in Ravenna.

Athletics and performing arts events (optional)

All Lakeside athletics and performing arts events are open to prospective families. There are events throughout the school year and we look forward to seeing you there!

View all events on the athletic and art calendars.

Upper School, grades 9-12

Interview (required)

The Upper School interview process is a 20-25 minute informal conversation and will include 10-15 minutes for parents and guardians to ask questions of their student's interviewer. Upper School interviews are scheduled online within Ravenna once a family has submitted the preliminary application.

For domestic applicants living outside the Seattle area, we are happy to arrange a Skype or phone interview. Please contact Lilli Forgette at 206-368-3636.

The interview process is different for international applicants; our admissions team will contact you regarding an interview if one is needed. Visit the International Application page for details.

Campus Tour (optional)

Students and families applying for the 2020-21 school year are welcome to come on a campus tour. Registration is required in Ravenna and will open September 4, 2019. Upper School Open House (optional)

Sunday, October 27, 2019 from 3-6 p.m.

     Student panel sessions at 11:30 a.m., 12:15 p.m., and 1:15 p.m. (choose one)

The Upper School Open Houses are casual, relaxed events with a flexible agenda. You are welcome to arrive at any time during the event. No RSVP is required and all family members are welcome, and we ask that families choose one date to attend.

Each open house event will host three student panel sessions where prospective students can ask questions of current Lakeside students. These sessions are optional but if you are interested in attending the times are listed above.

In place of a traditional open house at the Middle School, we offer admissions visit days (a required component of the application) and optional campus tours for families. Applicants to the Middle School and families looking beyond the current admission season can attend an Upper School Open House.
