The Lakeside alumni community grows stronger when alumni volunteers remain connected to the school by sharing their time, expertise and resources. Volunteering is a great way to ensure the Lakeside School community continues to thrive into the future!
The Lakeside/St. Nicholas Alumni Board works to assist Lakeside School in creating and maintaining a vibrant and engaged greater Lakeside alumni community. Its volunteer membership meets monthly throughout the school year to explore ways for alumni to stay connected to one another and to Lakeside.
Each member commits to a three-year term and serves on one of three committees.
The Activities Committee plans, promotes, and evaluates Lakeside alumni programming annually. It is also responsible for managing the alumni programming grant process.
The Mission and Governance Committee selects the winner of the Distinguished Alumni Award, oversees board governance, and recruits new board members.
The Connections Committee identifies ways to build connections within our alumni and school communities and develops pathways for Lakeside alumni mentorship.
Alumni board members regularly engage with guest speakers, including students, teachers, and administrators. They also occasionally have the opportunity to attend annual “visit days” where they sit in on classes at the Upper and Middle schools.
To contact the Alumni Board or to learn more, email the alumni relations office at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 206-440-2730.
Class Reps play a vital role in the Lakeside alumni community. They help keep class members in contact with one another, support the school’s fundraising efforts, and preserve the spirit of their graduating class. We rely on our Class Rep volunteers to expand our communication channels and ensure Lakeside news, updates and event information is shared broadly. Alumni who serve in this role can be located anywhere in the U.S. or the world and should not feel obligated to do it indefinitely or on their own. We highly encourage classmates to share Class Rep responsibilities. If you would like to become more involved with your classmates and Lakeside, please consider becoming a Class Rep!
Reunion planners are committed to helping shape an exciting and rewarding reunion for their classmates. Reunion is an extraordinary time for alumnae/ni to gather on campus to celebrate the history of Lakeside and St. Nicholas. Lakeside hosts a Friday evening alumni reception and during the weekend there will be time for individual class events.
Lakeside has four goals for all Lakeside and St. Nicholas reunions:
Encourage alumni to come back to campus and to reconnect with classmates
Provide a welcoming atmosphere for all alumni at the reunion and related events
Aim to break reunion attendance records at reunion events
Promote or renew interest and enthusiasm for Lakeside School and the Lakeside/St. Nicholas Alumni Association
Inspire Lakeside alumni to continue or begin giving to the Lakeside Fund to support educational excellence.
If you're interested in being a reunion planner for your upcoming reunion milestone, please e-mail email@example.com.
