Volunteer opportunities for alums
The Lakeside alum community grows stronger when alums remain connected to the school by sharing their time, expertise and resources. Volunteering is a great way to ensure the Lakeside School community continues to thrive into the future!
Your help inspires students, staff, faculty, and donors.

Alum board
The Lakeside/St. Nicholas Alum Board works to assist Lakeside School in creating and maintaining a vibrant and engaged greater Lakeside alum community. Its volunteer membership meets monthly throughout the school year to explore ways for alums to stay connected to one another and to Lakeside.
Each member commits to a three-year term and serves on one of three committees:
Activities Committee
Plans board-sponsored programming, supports the Life After Lakeside speaker series, and helps guide event grants for alum-led initiatives.
Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee
Develops strategies and action plans to foster an inclusive and welcoming alum experience, ensuring all voices are heard and valued.
Mission and Governance Committee
Oversees board operations and nominations, manages the Distinguished Alum Award selection process, and helps recruit future board members.
Alum board members regularly engage with guest speakers, including students, teachers and administrators. They also occasionally have the opportunity to attend annual “visit days” where they sit in on classes at the Upper and Middle schools.
To contact the alum board or to learn more, email the alum relations office at alumni@lakesideschool.org or call 206-440-2730.

Class Reps
Class Reps play a vital role in the Lakeside alum community. They help keep class members in contact with one another, support the school’s fundraising efforts, and preserve the spirit of their graduating class. We rely on our Class Rep volunteers to expand our communication channels and ensure Lakeside news, updates and event information is shared broadly. Alums who serve in this role can be located anywhere in the U.S. or the world and should not feel obligated to do it indefinitely or on their own. We highly encourage classmates to share Class Rep responsibilities. If you would like to become more involved with your classmates and Lakeside, please consider becoming a Class Rep!

Reunion Planners
Reunion planners are committed to helping shape an exciting and rewarding reunion for their classmates. Reunion is an extraordinary time for alumnae/ni to gather on campus to celebrate the history of Lakeside and St. Nicholas. Lakeside hosts a Friday evening alum reception and during the weekend there will be time for individual class events.
- Lakeside has four goals for all Lakeside and St. Nicholas reunions:
- Encourage alums to come back to campus and to reconnect with classmates
- Provide a welcoming atmosphere for all alums at the reunion and related events
- Promote or renew interest and enthusiasm for Lakeside School and the Lakeside/St. Nicholas Alum Association
- Inspire Lakeside alums to continue or begin giving to the Lakeside Fund to support educational excellence.
If you're interested in being a reunion planner for your upcoming reunion milestone, please e-mail alumni@lakesideschool.org.

Regional Engagement
Lakeside has alums across the country and the world. Each year we plan various regional receptions to connect with our alums outside of Seattle. The goal of our regional receptions is to connect Lakeside alums with each other and the school more broadly. If we are coming to your city, we’d love to connect with you for coffee, or see you at the regional reception!
Even if we're not heading your way, there are ways you can contribute to building regional connections in your area:
- Request a regional list from the alum office by reaching out to alumni@lakesideschool.org.
- Explore the opportunity to host a local gathering by applying for a Programming Grant.
- Join LionLink to discover if there are college students in your city seeking mentorship or employment.
With your help, we can strenghen the alum community across the country!
