Frequently asked questions
When is 2024 Reunion Weekend?
This year Reunion Weekend is June 6-9.
Who is being celebrated?
Classes ending in 4 and 9 are celebrating the traditional reunion milestones. The Class of 1974 celebrates their 50th reunion.
What's my class doing?
Class specific events are a great opportunity for a more intimate, class-specific, environment during reunion weekend. Classes are responsible for planning their class gatherings sometime during reunion weekend. If you are interested in planning a gathering or are still waiting to hear from a classmate, please e-mail alumni@lakesideschool.org. You can also visit the Reunion Website in May 2024 to learn more about your class's plans.
I graduated in 1974 and am celebrating my 50th reunion. Where can I learn more about what's happening?
There will be a 50th Reunion Reception on Thursday, June 6, from 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. Light lunch will be hosted, and spouses/significant others are welcome. Following the reception, the Lakeside class of '74 is invited to join the Lakeside Class of 2024 in the traditional commencement procession. You can learn more here.
What's happening at Lakeside?
All alumni and current and former employees are invited back to campus on June 7 from 6-8:30 p.m. for the Alumni Reunion Reception. You and a guest are welcome to join us for an enjoyable evening outdoors on the Upper School Quad. Drinks and dinner will be served, and the tented space will offer something for every decade. So whether you're interested in finding a chair under the big tent to sit and stay awhile, moving around, or playing lawn games—you will have a great time! Register today!
What does "tented event" mean?
The reunion reception will occur under the large tent up for Commencement the day prior. The tent allows for more space, flexibility, and fresh air. For accessibility purposes, tables for pre-70s alumni will be on the outer perimeter of the tent. There will also be a variety of furniture options under the tent. Whether you're interested in sitting at a table and staying a while or moving about, you'll have options.
What should I wear?
The Reunion Reception is a casual outdoor event, and we will celebrate rain or shine! Please check the forecast and dress accordingly. We suggest leaving the formalwear at home in favor of comfortable layers, shoes appropriate for walking on grass, and waterproof if it's drizzly.
When will the food be served?
Food and beverages will be available throughout the event. There is no formal, sit-down dinner.
Is there a program?
There will be a brief program/remarks at approximately 7:30 p.m. with special recognition for the 50th reunion class. Beyond that, the event will be unprogrammed, allowing alumni and their guests to catch up with friends, enjoy fantastic food and drink, play lawn games, and have their class photos taken.
When will we take class portraits?
Classes will have the chance to have their portrait taken at a designated time.
What will my parking options be?
Carpooling and rideshares are encouraged to minimize cars on campus. The carpool/rideshare drop-off location will be at the Red Square roundabout.
If you drive, here's what you need to know:
On-campus parking lots will be first come, first served. Reunion brings an influx of cars to our campus and the surrounding neighborhood. Please note that there is limited street parking in the area.
We expect all members of our community to be considerate of our neighbors. Seattle's municipal code states that there is no parking within five feet of a driveway, mailbox, or alley.
There is no parking along 1st Avenue NE fronting the Middle School property and NE 140th Street between 1st and 4th avenues, where "no parking" signs appear. The city of Seattle regularly patrols these streets and tickets and tows illegally parked cars.
I can't attend the Reunion Reception this year. Do I have any other options to connect?
Whether you can make it to the reunion reception or not, you're invited to learn more about the Alumni Programming Grants. Programming Grants are a fantastic way to bring together Lakeside alumni across multiple classes during reunion weekend, regardless of where you are!
