COVID-19 and remote learning

“Lakeside is a strong community. We will get through this together, supporting one another and looking out for one another.” – Head of School Bernie Noe

Lakeside School has gone digital for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Students are currently engaged in remote learning, gathering virtually, and maintaining community while campus is closed.

Check back regularly for updates and opportunities to connect.

Staying connected

Maintaining connection and community is critical during remote learning. Lakeside continues to share resources with students and families both online and in our weekly email, “Virtually Lakeside.”

Students have access to a number of remote learning resources through PowerSchool Learning, Lakeside's learning management system, including library and technology support pages. Students also receive daily emailed updates in "The Daily" and "The (Mechanical) Bull."

The Student and Family Support webpage shares resources to support social and emotional well-being, maximize online learning, and ideas to stay connected.

The Experiential Education webpage highlights service opportunities for right now, from your own home, and experiential remote activities and resources.

Lakeside's remote learning plan includes synchronous classes. See the weekly Upper School class schedule here, and the Middle School schedule here.

Opportunities for parents and guardians to gather virtually are regularly added to the calendar.

Continuing to move and exercise while social distancing and remote learning is important for stress management and mental health. Head strength and conditioning coach Rick Huegli is sharing weekly at-home exercise plans with students, plus one for the larger community

Families can find contact information for faculty, student and family support team members, advisors, and other community members in the Veracross online directory
