Lakeside families are invited to the Independent Schools Families of Color Gathering on Oct. 24. This community-building event provides an opportunity for families of color to connect across local-area independent schools. This is a free event and includes dinner and activities for students of all ages.
A family of color includes families in which any member identifies as a person of color. A person of color is a term that describes people whose heritage is from underrepresented racial and ethnic communities in the U.S. and covers all and any peoples who identify as Native American, African/Black, Latinx/Hispanic, Asian, South Asian, Middle Eastern, Pacific Islander, multiracial, or mixed race.
