Four Lakeside photography students recently took top honors in the Washington State High School Photo Contest. Skye M. '17 received first place in the people category; Lauren L. '17 received second place in traditional black and white and sixth place in architecture; Noah S. '17 received fourth place in the landscape category; and Sophie L. '18 received fifth in the architecture category.
"Lakeside photography students should be commended for the strong body of work submitted," said photography teacher Barry Wong. Twenty-four prints by Lakesiders were awarded finalist and select ribbons which means those prints were selected by judges to be in the top 10 percent or 5 percent of all entries in each category.
The first-, second-, and third-place photographs from each of the 12 categories will be professionally matted and framed and be part of an exhibit that will travel the state making numerous stops including the Seattle Art Museum and the Tacoma Art Museum.
