"Lakeside photography students should be commended for the effort they put into preparing for the contest: critically appraising their portfolios, collaborating over image choices and printing and matting their best photographs,” said photography teacher Barry Wong. Thirty-one prints by Lakesiders were awarded finalist and select ribbons which means those prints were selected by judges to be in the top 5 percent or 10 percent of all entries in each category.
The first-, second- and third-place photographs from each of the 11 categories will be professionally matted and framed and be part of an exhibit that will travel the state making numerous stops including the Seattle Art Museum and the Tacoma Art Museum. The opening night for the exhibit will be Thursday, June 7.
