Three Lakesiders recognized in statewide Spanish writing contest

Three Lakeside students were recently recognized at the 21st annual “Escribo en Español” statewide writing contest, hosted by the Center for Spanish Studies at the University of Washington. Over 500 entries were submitted by students throughout the state. This year´s topic was “What Makes Me Smile, What Makes Me Laugh, What Makes Me Happy.”

Sidharth A. ’19 received second place in non-native prose. Arryn O. ’19 received third place in non-native poetry. Patrick J. ’20 received an honorable mention in non-native poetry.

The students, along with their teachers, Paloma Borreguero, Mara Morales, and Debby Heath, were recognized in a ceremony at the University of Washington. The students received their awards, a diploma, and a commemorative booklet that included the writings of all the prize winners.
