The 7th grade drama classes have spent this quarter exploring Shakespeare’s works. We practiced breaking down Shakespearean text, learned techniques for solo performance, and explored the plots of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet, Richard III, and As You Like It. Students then chose a monologue from one of those four plays, analyzed the text, blocked, rehearsed, and then performed it for their peers with a custom-designed lighting cue.
A few students, however, were scheduled to perform on the Monday and Tuesday after we started remote learning and had to turn in their final performances via video. The good news about that is that we can share them with you!
In order, Yoseph K. performs Duke Senior from "As You Like It," Lily Z. performs Juliet from "Romeo and Juliet," and Noah M. performs Romeo from "Romeo and Juliet."
