Lakeside Upper School students are in the spotlight this February in “CIRCUS!” – three evenings of one-act plays performed and directed by Lakeside students. This year, all the plays have been written by Lakeside Drama IV seniors Maya D., Meredith G., Aliyah L., Bianca M., Philip M., Nicholas V., and Katherine Y.

Performances, which are free of charge, will be held Tuesday, Feb. 15, Wednesday, Feb. 16, and Thursday, Feb. 17 in St. Nicholas Auditorium and will be livestreamed. Shows start at 6 p.m., and are anticipated to end by 7:30 p.m. Please note that some plays contain mature language and subject matter.

A selection of the four or five plays will be performed each evening; each play will be performed twice during the run. “It is a program-wide celebration,” said drama teacher Alban Dennis. “And this year there is a deeper connection with the Theatre Production class designing each show. It is such an important opportunity for students to connect across grade level and, due to the schedule change, it is an all-school production. This is also a great opportunity to see our competencies and mindsets in action!”
