Eight Lakeside art students have been recognized by the Bellevue Art Museum (BAM) in their 20 Under 20 Exhibition — a juried show in all visual arts categories. Seniors George B. and Katie W.; juniors Blake P., Eric X., Mia V., and Victor X.; and sophomores David C. and Torin B. were selected by jurors to be among the 20 artists under 20 years of age to be highlighted.
BAM received hundreds of pieces from artists aged 13-19 from King, Pierce, Snohomish, Kitsap, and Thurston Counties. "This is wonderful recognition of the effort and creativity our students put into their art work," said photography teacher Barry Wong. "It’s also impressive that Lakeside students were eight of the 20 artists selected for the show."
The opening reception for 20 Under 20 Exhibition takes place Friday, Jan. 10 from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Bellevue Arts Museum. The museum is located at 510 Bellevue Way NE, Bellevue, WA. The exhibit runs through Sunday, April 5. Learn more at the Bellevue Arts Museum website: http://www.bellevuearts.org.
