An Independent School • Grades 5-12

Kicking off this spring, the Lives of Lakeside alumni speaker series will explore the personal growth experiences that bring us together, build empathy and connection, and foster feelings of support among our alumni community. Did you experience a moment of awakening, find joy in an unexpected place, or overcome the odds? Have you encountered a challenge, a setback, or a loss that you had to learn and grow from? We know everyone has had valuable experiences, and we’d love to have you share your story of personal growth. The goal of this series is to inspire, uplift, and connect. Your personal experiences and stories are powerful and can impact people across generations, races, and identities. Ideas include:

  • Bouncing back from setbacks
  • Taking big risks
  • Grief & loss
  • Triumphing over overwhelming odds
  • Celebrating heritage and overcoming divisions
  • Winning the war within
  • Moments of awakening or personal growth

Each chat will be focused on a theme and will feature three speakers from across the years at Lakeside to offer us a richness of life perspective. After speakers share their short, pre-recorded stories, they will participate in a moderated Q&A session. Speakers will receive support and guidance during the process from members of the planning committee. The series will take place monthly via zoom this spring.
