Lakeside artists are in the spotlight this January in the Upper School musical, “Mamma Mia.” The show is a jukebox musical based on the songs of ABBA that explores identity, nostalgia, and the effervescent joy of personal discovery. This contagious celebration reveals how the choices of our past can lead to unintended beauty in our present lives. It asks what role family and friends play in how we identify who we are and where we come from. All performances are free and open to the public. Performances are Jan. 29, 30, 31, and Feb. 1, with shows starting at 7 p.m. in St. Nicholas Hall at the Upper School.
Stop by the Pigott Family Arts Center before the show on Wednesday, Jan. 29, Thursday, Jan. 30 and Friday, Jan. 31 to see the Upper School Midwinter Arts Show. The gallery will be open from 6-7 p.m. and will feature work from students in all of the visual arts classes, including painting and drawing, sculpture, ceramics, and photography. This is a great opportunity to see how far students have progressed in their creative abilities.
