An Independent School • Grades 5-12

Lakeside Middle and Upper school musicians have been earning recognition at the state, regional, and even national level this winter.

Choir students Katherine S. ’23, Isabelle Y. ’24, and Sophie W. ’24 were selected for the Washington Music Educators Association All-State Choirs. Katherine and Sophie were also selected for the American Choral Directors Association All-Northwest Honor Choir, and Katherine was selected for the National Association for Music Education National Honor Choir.

The Washington Music Educators Association recognizes student musicians in a number of all-state groups. Juniors Ally B., Laura H., Yoon L., and Maxine M. and sophomore Minoo J. were selected for the All-State Chamber Orchestra. Luke C. ’22 , Edward Y. ’23, William F. ’24, Noah S. ’24, Amanda W. ’24, Raina W. ’24, and Preston T. ’25 were selected for the All-State Symphony Orchestra. Eighth grader Andy B. was selected for the All-State Junior Symphony Orchestra. Jazz band members Andrew Z. ’22, Ian M. ’23, and Liz C.’24 were selected for the All-State Jazz Band. Alex Z. ’24, Brian W. ’25, and Emi T. ’22 were selected for the All-State Wind Ensemble.

Andrew Z. was also accepted into The Next Generation Jazz Orchestra, a group of 20 accomplished high school jazz musicians from around the country who perform together at the Monterey Jazz Festival.
