This is an incredibly challenging time for our students, especially when events and schedules change so rapidly. All of us at Lakeside appreciate the work parents and guardians are doing to encourage them through it all. As a parent myself, I have found it to be unbelievably draining – physically and emotionally – to keep everything positive and moving along for my kids, especially when uncertainty and anxiety is high. What parents and guardians are facing is difficult, emotional, and at times, quite overwhelming.
With that in mind, Lakeside’s student support team would like to share a resource with the families of our students. The Parenting in Place webinar series emerged this summer in response to the pandemic and the specific challenges that families are facing while quarantining, social distancing, remote learning, and in an era of heightened racial strife.
I encourage families to take a look at this eight-week series that starts Nov. 17; it addresses a variety of relevant parenting topics that our student support team believe might be useful to you. There are also other resources and information available on the site. Please note that there is a cost ($39 through Nov. 17; $49 after that point) to attend this series. If families would like financial assistance, please email email@example.com and we can assist you.
Finally, as we head into the winter months, remember that we are here for students and families! Please check out Lakeside’s student and family support PowerSchool Learning webpage and don’t hesitate to reach out to any member of the student support team.
We appreciate and honor our partnership with all of our families and are sending our warmest wishes.
