Two Lakeside art students have been recognized by the Bellevue Art Museum (BAM) in their 20 Under 20 Exhibition — a juried show in all visual arts categories. Juniors Ai-Li H. and Sydney Y. were selected by jurors to be among the 20 artists under 20 years of age to be highlighted.
Previously the 20 Under 20 has been an open call for art, but this year artists were asked, “What does liberation mean to you?” This year’s exhibition examines how local teens have participated in, reflected upon, and redefined liberation.
BAM received submissions from artists aged 13-19 from King, Pierce, Snohomish, Kitsap, and Thurston Counties. "This is wonderful recognition of the effort and creativity our students put into their art work," said photography teacher Barry Wong.
The exhibit runs through Sunday, April 11. View the artwork and learn more at the Bellevue Arts Museum website.
